	Right... I've bought this: And I like it, but.. we are talking the modified classic car forum and it looks like the seven other red 3 series I drive past every day. So, I think it would benefit from being 'modified'. I really fancy doing the wheel centres black, any advice on the best way to prep and the best paint to use. And... I think polished lips really work with black centres, BUT, I know that they mark and stain in minutes.... can I laquer them, once polished? Cheers James

Cheers James You can laquer if you want but for the 10 mins it takes to run a bit of solvol round the rims once a month to keep the polished section looking good I wouldn't bother

	Ok... good advice, So to paint the centres, do I need primer or just give em a good clean with thinners?

	painting wheels is a pain in the . Especially with all those spokes. To do em properly you need to clean then, then sand them (360) then paint. You wont need primer if the origional paint it good. However, its not easy to get a good finish. After waisting £50 on paint etc to do mine i got them blasted and gloss powder coated and now they look fantastic! It cost me £120 for 4 and although i really didnt want to spend so much money, I'm so glad i did as the finish is much better than you can get from painting.
