the missus had a 104 in white as well, gutless pos it was, then i discovered the problem, the cam lobes had nearly worn down to the same size as the cam, and the engine had only done 60k, new head and cam didn't exactly transform it either

with this yard, is it a walk round yourself place? ie take your own tools? thanks Last went a couple years ago, at the time was allowed to go round picking stuff off with own tools. Once bought an engine and allowed us to drive in to take that out. Always seemed to have a great variety of cars with quick turn around - frequently crush an entire couple row of cars regardless of how much is left on them or how long they might have been there!

My dad used to go there a lot to get bits for a Chevvy C10 that we had in the 80s sadly I never went with him. I believe that it had a reputation for having a lot of yank stuff at the time. I always liked to walk around the one in Bicester, great place that is.

That and Huges in bicester had loads of American cars due to USAF Upper Heyford and USAF/RAF Croughton . The Americans just used to leave stuff behind rather that ship it home , i can remember rows of station wagons in Huges .
I still see yank stuff driving around , they are still at Croughton ,but its usually in Air Force double cab long wheelbase pickups they are drving and not civvy vehicles .

Loads more to come but photobukckets playing up! Use imgur.com/ - Photobucket is the worst system for displaying pix on the web - They will remove the pictures in a few months. imgur is so much easier. Just drag and drop onto your browser.
