Jane has just rung me from France and it looks like the syncro is awaiting terminal engine failure   Now its only going to want a rebuild but thats not the point, that can be taken care of back here But I need a 4wd car ASAP to buy and take out there for her Must be 100% reliable...... preferably golf sized but I know I cant be choosy at the moment ;D so what have you got then ?? Looking for scoobies at the moment but without much luck, 6 months ago legacys were £5-600 tops on the bay.... now there all making stupid money for anything half tidy... |

Incidently, if you need a 1800 carb engine for the syncro, I have a sound 100k one getting in the way here you can have. Just a quick question.... does it have these mountings on the block ?  As they are needed for the syncro box  |

It's from a Scirocco, so without checking* I couldn't tell you... but knowing VW they will be cast in but not tapped (eg my scirocco is running a GU block, and that's the code for a syncro engine innit?)
* Involving shifting a whole Golf 16v engine/box/subframe, 2 Midget roll bars, an Audi coupe front bumper and other assorted junk...
