Sounds like a right shifty cuss. Can he not see you've paid deposit and not received the goods?
On the outside chance he'll come good, tell him Friday you're coming for the car or getting the deposit back as you've seen something else you want to look at this coming weekend. That depends whether you're prepared to accept the fabric seat nonsense though.

Get your money back asap via paypal. He's stalling and taking the pee. If I was advertising a car for sale minus the engine it wouldnt have an engine in when I advertised it, or it would of been out the car within 24 hours.

don't get stressed mate.
He's realised he's letting it go too cheap...So he's in no rush to take the engine out, he's decided to swap the interior (he shouldnt have) you're still getting a good deal.
Its cold, so unless he's got a heated garage, along with work, it makes it a ballache in this weather.
don't get it twisted though, I completely agree with you and I'd be screwing at him in no uncertain terms to either take the engine out, give me my money back or I'm taking the car as is.
You've paid a deposit on it, if he wants to be a knob...Take the car or take the engine out for him, works both ways.
Personally I'd stick with it, its alright these saying its not worth it, its a 911 shell for 3 bag, finished you'd have an amazing car with a tidy value, so its a good investment.
If you change your mind. let me know I'll take it lol, good luck with it anyway, hope you get the outcome you're after mate.

Thanks chaps, I'm sure I will get it back soon one way or another.
There is no shortage of 911s minus engines for 3-4k I know of this and another for 3k. When you factor the gearbox is £1500 and the engine is £3000 they are not that cheap realy. This car is very rotton and so are all the others I looked at. Its all about 911 cool tax, wihch I'm getting a bit curse word off with tbh. its like they have the CROWN jewles when your buying, not a piece of rusty tat.

I would say that even if it all eventually goes well, the car will carry a stigma with it; and that will stick with you.
I say get your money back, find a nice chap selling his old 911 do a deal over a cuppa, and move on.

Hi Gav If it helps I just bought a running '84 as a project (needs a bit of bodywork) for £5450 so they are out there... This one to be exact (yes I know it is dressed as a 964 which will be recitifed!) There is a nice one in Worcester which I reckon will go cheap on eBay it the mo. Sack him off, go round and get your deposit back and buy one with an engine in it is my advice! Good luck

funkula, I have lost interest in 911's now, just too much greed in there. Maybe another time. yours looks nice, a real bargain that. I only went for this as it had tubo body and it was a 1973 so had chrome window surrounds.
The guy is just ignoring me now, so I have done a paypal dispute. Hope it works out, if not I will send somone round. I bought a random modern for now to tide me over, 2.8 Z3.

Hey cheer up! Didn't you just do the a similar thing with an AUDI? Lots of interest so you pulled the plug (eBay)....might be wrong as I just did a quick skim read. Just being a curse word lol.
If you are put off by this hiccup then...... ;D
I, for one would love to see a sumpcraker 911. Please proceed!

Its one thing pulling an ebay auction, its something completely different taking a deposit and then not letting the buyer collect.

Never use "gift" as it is exactly that, a gift. They aren't obliged to give you anything in return
