All I know is, it's a black 603. Don't know anything about which series, how good, or even how much.
But apparently, it is coming over in Sept/October. A mate is planning on moving to CZ at least part time and is ferrying a few motors to make some money. He has bought himself a little Czech van (Yes, you know the kind) but with the later polo engined version. He wants to G40 it.
So, he has been offered a Tatra on his last trip and will bring it over.
I'll try to find out some more.

Sounds cool, we need pictures Would it be tax exempt? (made '56 to '78?) How much do these cars usually go for?

Well, if I know my mate, it will be coming straight over from CZ with him behind the wheel. And heading for Scouse land. I suppose if the deal was done in advance he might stop en-route to finalise things and get a train home.
I would love one, with an LPG kit.

I've had 2 Tatras, a 1964 T603 and a 1992 T613. They're huge fun when they're going, can be a heartache when they're not. Have a look at www.tatra-register.co.uk for a few other cars for sale, German ebay is quite good too as is the Tatraworld site (linked from Tatra Register UK site) Spares support in the UK is better now than it's ever been, there's a chap in South Wales called Simon Redrup who's rebuilt a few and carries spares. You can get a runner for around £1500, the very best ones are upto £5000 but beware of rust! My 603 didn't need any welding to it over the 7 years I owned it but other cars have been as rotten as a pear. Engines are good for several hundred thousand miles, but remember that they've probably already done it! The cars were built at a time when parts were expensive but labour was cheap, rebuilds are very time consuming. Basic servicing is a doddle though, if you can set the valves on a Beetle engine, you can do it on a Tatra. It's just there's twice as many ;D

HUBBA! I'd really like a TAT-RAAA. However I'd also really like my testiculars to remain joined to the rest of me. So not this time I've got enough czech-engine-in-the-wrong-place things to be getting on with anyhoos. ;D

There's a short video of a T603 here: And this clip from Top Gear here: Look for the T603 clip about 2 minutes in - it's from a 10 minute promotional film made in 1964 and it's ace ;D

I would happily give at least one ball for a 603. I really wish I could afford a good one

I've had a bit of an update. The local Czech mechanic and drinking budy who he has hooked up has found him a couple of black ones. And is going to go over them with a very fine comb. He is a perfectionist and will know every fault.
Pete will drive it back, and plans to maybe take in a ring run as appears to be compulsory when taking anything Czech either way from the UK to home, across Germany.
