Absolutely loved my 200D even though it was a dog and slower than a glacier (54hp). It is an astonishingly good motorway car and wafty cruiser, even though mine struggled above 70mph.
I have decided that I will get a W123 and stick an OM605 or 606 (if it'll fit) in it one day, and use it as my daily. 130ish horsepower will mean I shouldn't have to absolutely thrash it to get anywhere.

I've pondered selling it a few times but never put it up for sale... I might be losing my space at work so may need to find a new home. It'd be a shame to have to sell it out of necessity

Cruise control and ABS? how crusty is the interior? I've given it a hoover out but will clean it and take some pics next week. It's only on 100k so the interior, particularly the drivers seat is still in good nick!

I realised they did a 6.9 litre V8 this weekend That would be awesome... Heard a few rumours of someone doing a VAG PD TDI engine swap in the states. Would be interesting. MOT will be once I'm half confident of it passing, or at least with minimal fails I've got a few other projects on the go and don't want to be skint so it's happening when I have spare time and money

Took a few interiors pics... Drivers seat needs a clean but is in decent condition and isn't collapsed The worlds biggest steering wheel! My 'wood' trim has started to go a bit wayward All in all it's not that bad... Boots providing to be quite a good stash box. Still has the first aid kit from 1985, extinguisher and genuine MB warning triangle

Nice one..great purchase price as well...ive got the 14/ 215 Bundt rims on my 300D and it handles just fine for me..for me..88hp is enough..I'm not a rev head..motorways arent an Aussie lifestyle..its called highway scenery!..when I lived in Germany and Spain in the early 90s..we had W115 240Ds and W123 300Ds..never broke down..and we put 1000s of kms all over Europe..so I'm a die hard fan...good one mate..ill be following this..

I report with potentially sad news.... Unfortunatly I'm moving work premises and this means I will have no where to keep the Mercedes So potentially it's for sale. As it stands it needs the brakes bleeding and should be MOT ready. It isn't insured so can't take it to a test myself... It's not mega pretty but all the rust has been removed and treated with Kurust and Zinc 182 primer. I'm just sad that I may never get the chance to drive it properly

I'll be honest, not brilliant...
Haven't taken it on a long run but town driving is somewhere around the mid 20's. She's a big old girl afterall!

It pains me to do this... Work are getting pissy at me leaving it outside and with an upcoming holiday still to fund looks like it's for sale No idea what it's worth but it owes me around £750. Had a rebuilt carb with new diaphram, needle etc, set of plugs, new brake master cylinder, oil and filter using proper Mobil 1 and been thouroughly deep cleaned. Oh and a new set of tyres all round. Brake pedals long so the brakes need another bleed (I rushed it). Starts (needs a jump though) brakes, steers and drives fine. Well, as fine as a two tonne limo can

If ever a word was more fitting... Took this week off work and booked a MOT for this Friday )14th June). Took the air box off to freshen it up, fitted new plugs and rotor arm, treated all the bay rust, cleaned and painted it white Got underneath it and a small bubble of underseal turned into a yawning chasm in the floor. Also, the driver seat belt mount was head in by said underseal Nothing else for it then! Stripped the interior to clean the carpets and seats and the check the rest of the floor. All the rust was cut out and new patch panels made including a rather handsome formed one (I do love the pan folder). This was all welded and seam sealed. Used UPOL weld through primer between the floor skin and the new box section from the bottom of the B pillar to the floor. Worked rather well! Then I attacked the thing I'd been putting off the longest.... Freeing rusty bleed nipples. Bit of heat and WD and all four went with a reassuring crack Now they're all free I'll get it on my neighbours ramp and change the fluid. While the wheels were off I wire brushed off all the crusty bits and painted them black. The hub caps will cover most of it but still, every little helps! Oh, I took off the broken grill emblem and plate. Painted the faded rubbish grey grill black. Wire wool and polish it came up grand De-mossed the rear bumper and gave it a polish. Also gave the bootlid a go over with some 3M Finesse to try and bring back a bit of shine. Kinda worked... Painted the floor inside white this morning and now I'm waiting for that to dry. Then it's back in with the freshened up interior!
