Hey all I'm looking for the tech specs of a Golf Mk2 1.6 Driver.. All i can find is the GTi's and Parkers is empty.. Any one got anything? Thanks  |

This any help as well?  I have the original brochure at home and I've owned a fair number of these as well so feel free to ring me if you want to know anything One of my pet hates is nobbers on ebay advertising 1.3 C Golfs as Drivers in the hope it'll add 37p to the value. I like to think that my vitriole about it is the old person in my struggling to get out ;D Intestingly (or not ;D ), the sticker inside the boot with the factory spec on it will show the car as a Golf CL - the stuff that makes it a Driver was added as an options package as far as the factory were concerned |

my first car was a white '91 3dr 1600 ryder. Basically a driver without the bodykit but all the other goodies. Loved it but it was costing me £50 per week just to insure it  Great car for a 17yr old tho, all my mates were in 1lt fiestas/novas  |

Drivers have a sliding steel sunroof as well and an upholstery pattern unique (ish) to them. As the Mk2 trundled towards it's demise they started putting different cloths in them though. Ryders could be had with a 1300 engine as well, whereas Drivers always had a 1600 (or an 1800 on run out) |

There are some inaccuracies in CAP's data as well - the mirrors moved to the front of the doors before 1992 for instance |
