Just wondering if a Retro-Rides chatroom would be a good idea? Or does everyone just use Messenger/Yahoo etc nowadays? The forum is great but it would be good to have something a bit more instant, kinda like a Retro Rides meet online Some piccies of the cars that could be discussed in a R-R chatroom!

I've often thought about creating one in Yahoo or something, but then it would be hijacked by blokes wearing carrier bags on their heads with oranges stuffed in their mouths, typing one-handed......
Good idea though, if it was obviously restricted to members. :-)

interesting, but i do find RR one of the most instant mesaging forums i go on! which is great, i think a chat room might water down content etc and become just chat. if you fancy it go ahead but it works just fine as it is.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

My experiance is that either the forum will suffer as everyone uses chat instead or that the main forum gets regular posts like "is anyone in chat?" "does anyone use the chat?" "I'll be in chat at 6 pm if anyones interested" and so on.

www.turbosport.co.uk has a "shoutbox" on the forum index page, access to it is one of the perks of subscription, it works like an msn messenger window except we all can use it at the same time, it works really well and keeps quite a lot of us on the site for hours at a time!! lol
