ok so with the nod from teh wife and a couple of quid in the bank, project passat is in the brainstorming stage. on a random note, I really like these steelies Alloys think some polished up pirelli P alloys would look good on a dropped passat? cheers Maybe........ Not sure if that hasn't been done before but it'll be cheap for sure What about going steel - Golf driver or G60 steels and trims Black centres

Just a quick note, but those Cookie Cutters you linked to on eBay are well overpriced IMO. Out of all the 5x130 Porsche Wheels they're by far the least popular of choice over here (don't know why, I think they're awesome), which means they can be picked up relatively cheap. I bought a full set of detailed 7x15s, including detailed centre caps for £99 last year. I ended up selling them on for £160, but that's still way cheaper than the ad. Keep looking and I'm sure you'll find a set in budget.

Seen these wheels on a couple of golf's featured in various Dub mags, they are the dogs plums. I would personally go for them on a slammed passat

can you guys help me on clearing up an offset question? If I went for audi wheels with an offset of 37 and fitted 20 mm adaptors (4x100 to 4x108) that woudl make an offestt of 57mm yes?? would that be too much for my car to take? i think my car can take 35-42 standard.

Fitting 20mm adaptors would make the offset 17mm (I think).
As for which ones to go for, of the ones shown, I'd probably go for the D90's. They've been done to death on the Dub scene, but there's a reason for that - they just look superb! Get some second hand adapters, some standard silver finish wheels, doesn't have to be an expensive option.
Those Le Castellet wheels look good too. Almost like a baby D90 but in 4 stud! They are available in 15" too, but very rare.
P-slots could work too. Again available in 15" but rare.
The 17" Wolfraces aren't bad as far as that sort of thing goes, but the might look a bit boy-racer.
One style I love for the 35i is the ATS cup. Loads of dish on the 7" wide ones, crazy dish on the 8"s and 9"s!!!

The anti-dish! There's a sick little puppy inside of me that wants to rock out in a Circa-1996 stylee. Cavalier on Venoms, M3 mirrors and Astra GSi bonnet vents. All blown over in a bright medium blue...And with a DTM exhaust... *n

You tempted by banded steels? There was a thread on here not so long ago highlighting a company who do it, on the level, above board etc. might work on your Passat? Keeping the same ugly/beautiful wheel centres, but 7"+ wide... Apologies if anyone has already suggested this...

Haha! That's exactly what I have planned for mine! Standard 14"s widened to 8" or 9" with those 'ugly' CL hub caps. I think it would look mint.

I think 16in rims look good on these Passats. I'm not a big fan of Porsche rims personally. If it were me, I'd go for them Audi rims. Either that or black 16in steels... preferably banded... ;D
