I want to know about V.I.P... I know a few of you know about these cars so any pictures and info would be great. What are the best cars for it and any ideas of some cars that aren't the usual choices but would work. And what do you think of this? Yay or nay? I personally like it.

above isn't VIP.
it needs to lose the spoiler and grow some tint, not even just for VIP but to look good.
anything executive works. lexus ls400s, old 7 series, anything really that is a 4 door saloon. preferably in black, with major slammage and big rimZ. and tint and camber and nice chrome touches ooooo

Most of those are NOT VIP, although they may be VIP style.
To be VIP you need to have the correct base, either Lexus GS/LS/Toyo CROWN, or Nissan Cima/Cedric/Gloria/Q45, selected minivans and box cars.
Then you have VIP-sytle, however this also is reliant on the dish/lip/offset, ride height, kit, colour.
Its all very complicated, needless to say my A8 would never be true VIP, even with the 'right' wheels and ride height. The Honda Accord and Toyota CROWN above would not be classed VIP either.
Then you have EXE, which is related to VIP.....
I'll leave it there.

Funny you should say that. I was flicking through Max Plower in asda the other day (I know, I know, I was bored ). Anyway there is an article in there on VIP style. Quite a good article to be fair, but I dread to think what the repercussions are!!! Ford Orions on 20" chromes... I do like a nice VIP ride though. Especially S-Class Benz's and LS400's

I'll leave it there. i'll agree on my last pic, but I'm going to disagree strongly on the three smaller toyota pix. If the Japanese deem them suitable for a VIP-only website gallery then I'll go with the people who defined the genre...

Like I said in the rest of my post, the Honda and Older CROWN are not true VIP, although the Honda could be VIP-style. The LS400, Toyota CROWN and Nissan Stagea are VIP/VIP-style (Stagea)

VIP is something that is confusing me at the moment. I mean without the particular make and model requirements to qualify as VIP, isn't it just a set of big rims, lowering and tints.... or am I missing something? What i'm trying to say is, if you tryed to apply the formula to a different type of car, a Saxo to use AlistairK's example- it would just be the same as 90% of all other modified Saxo's, ie tints, big wheels and lowered? Its a new style that doesn't seem to be offering anything new IMO. That said, the ones i've seen pics of do look sweet as, so that can't be bad

It does sound like the model itself is a qualifyer here, rather than the "style" itself being the most important thing, it exempts the sort of out-of-the-box, out-of-scene thinking that prevails here. Just my 2 cents etc..

I was under the impression it was lowering luxobarges on big rims, tints and installing curtains. When did all the complexities come into it?

I think the size and width of rims dictates a lot of it, VIP cars generally have a hearty helping of dish and stretched tyres, super low ride height, and are generally larger cars.... often there's wild bodykits etc as well.
The silver wagon is a CROWN BTW as well.

I was under the impression it was just luxury saloons/MPVs with a subtle bodykit dumped over huge dished shiny rims. I'm not keen on putting things in 'boxes' anyways.

This is where we get to the whole label/pedant thing. Funny when I do it regarding more traditional styles I get told I'm being blinkered, but its OK to "enforce the rules" if its a J style...
I think labels are important. I'd rather call them "nouns" that labels though. If you don't make the effort to describe things as they are then you lose the whole point of using language to describe things.

Personally, I was under the same impression as everyone else, big luxo car, slammed, rims, dish, lip.
Its only when I joined vipstylecars.com that I got 'educated'!
They are very quick to 'stamp' on people for incorrect labelling of cars. A lot of Japanese folks post there too, so its not just the Americans interpretation.
