Well, thought i'd start a thread for this, my baby, this is the second metro I ever bought, and having sold my first one and regretting it I thought I ought to keep this... plus it blew up on me so couldnt sell it broken!
Bought this at MG stoneleigh show, saw it in the parking right outside the entrance and said to my dad, if its for sale I'm buying it, it was for sale, went to a cashpoint and to the owners suprise bought it there and then.
Then went into the show and saw someone selling NOS turbo alloys so bought them aswell and whacked the A539's on to them, beautiful.
The downfall was a few months after buying it, driving it back from college the headgasket went between 2+3, a sound I'm all to familiar with, so did that, fitted a maniflow st2 LCB and a full maniflow system (single box) started it up and it ran lovely, drove it round the block to see if it was all good... BANG
Lost drive just as I was pulling back upto my parents, parked it up, couldnt for the life of me work out what it was until I looked down the back of the engine to see a lovely big hole inside the diff casing, curse word.
Bought a low mileage gearbox, then the biggest regret, I had it rebuilt by the garage I was working for's gearbox "specialist" who said he'd done loads of mini boxes and would do a reet pucka job.
Biggest regret ever, built the engine and box back up 2 years later (slacking i know!) and it crunches on downshifts into second and the diff isnt shimmed right, lovely.
That brings me to now, the want for more power (and a gearbox that functions 100%) ive got 3 turbo blocks, 4 turbo heads, and loads of other turbo related bits, and I cant help but want to build a low comp turbo engine, megasquirted with the aim of 130-150bhp reliably...
