An original, very rare, low mileage and low owner Peugeot 205 Rallye in excellent condition.
EQUIPMENT
Door mounted mirrors, colour coded bumper inserts, Peugeot Talbot Sport livery, deep front spoiler, halogen headlamps, sunroof, Peugeot 205 mudflaps, rev counter, monogrammed all-black upholstery with red trim, sports steering wheel with Rallye logo, interior courtesy lamp, map reading lamp, Clarion 97001G digital stereo cassette, digital clock, folding rear seats, three rear seatbelts, tailgate wash/wipe.
EXTERIOR
This stunning 205 Rallye is finished in Express Yellow one of only two colours available when new, the other being alpine white, it has a beautiful smooth gloss finish. The simplicity and purity of the design is amplified in this striking colour which attracts much attention. The bumpers remain undamaged and all the factory fit glass is present. All the shut lines are linear and absolutely no corrosion or rust is present. There is evidence of a previous smart repair on the lower section of the nearside rear quarter panel, however this does not detract from the overall impressive appearance of the car. The Peugeot Talbot Sport livery is all present and intact, but has is faded slightly in some areas. An amazing survivor in a usable show condition.
INTERIOR
The interior of this genuine example looks amazing. The monogrammed fabric in black with red stitching on the sports style front seats is also continued on the matching rear seats. The Peugeot Talbot Sport Logo is stitched into the front seats and is also present and correct on the three spoke sports steering wheel. The door cards are in fantastic order and compliment the upholstery well. The painted section above the driver side door card has suffered from some chips to the paintwork. The clear sports dials operate faultlessly as do the push button switches. The carpeting is clean and suffered virtually no wear. The headlining is unmarked and the sunroof glass is clear and free from marks. The original Clarion digital stereo cassette remains fitted to the standard two speaker system. A fantastic original interior showing a gesture towards Peugeot’s rallying pedigree.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
A delightful drive for any car enthusiast is the sporty 1.4 Peugeot 205 Rallye. The 1360cc TU3.2 engine produces 75BHP and achieves 0-62mph in 11.8 seconds with a top speed of 107mph, tremendous fun in such a lightweight car! The original data plate in the engine bay displays a total kerb weight of 750kg. Having been well maintained by just a few owners this car drives impeccably. The transmission is the close ratio 5-speed gearbox which is smooth and precise in operation.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The colour coded special sports wheels are in fantastic order having been professionally refurbished by the previous owner and are shod in 165/70 R13 tyres with excellent tread remaining. Servo assisted front brake discs and rear drum brakes bring the car up straight and steady.
HISTORY FILE
Registered on the 23 February 1993, this car has had just five former keepers. Having covered only 70,318 miles it is clear this example has been cherished. A full service in addition to new cambelt, water pump and alternator belt was carried out in October 2012 ensuring the car is ready to be enjoyed. The handbook contained in the black Peugeot A5 wallet is present, as are service and maintenance guide books. The car has also benefitted from full rust proof treatment in October 2012 by Rustmaster UK Ltd. The invoice and 5 year warranty is present in the history file.
A wonderful opportunity to experience 205 Rallye fun with an increasingly difficult to find original example. Taxed until March 2013 and MOT until October 2013.
