A colleague at work has got a 2cv, but it's run out of MoT and tax, so she needs to get something for it reasonably quick... It's an '87/E, here's a piccy, but since then she's dinged a front wing, so it'll need a new one, plus whatever for the MoT, not sure what's involved there... It's in central London. What would be a good starting price on eBay? Thanks

tricky, a nice sound 2cv with an MOT in useable condition but far from immaculate and on its original chassis is worth about 800 quid. With replacement chassis about 1100 no MOT and possibly wanting some work, no more than 500 quid even if it nothing major needed. 2CV's without MOT's scare people cos they could need a chassis.
Starting price 50 quid? ending price anywhere between 50 and 400 i would say.

Yup, that's about right. I've just given up the reigns of the Disc Brake Register for 2CVGB so I know a fair bit about values. 50 is a little low as it is worth a few hundred even in parts.
Start it low but put a reserve of £150 would be my advice. Difficult to see how solid it is from one picture but that sill looks a little suspect.

I never bother putting reserves on my cars - all you get is a barrage of pointless questions asking "what's the reserve" and at the end of the day if you're not happy with the price it's going for, pull the auction. People seem to bid more frequently if there's no reserve too Just my 0.2.

Agreed with Lewis. Set a reserve, and that will be the highest bid, or maybe one over it. No reserve and you are letting the people decide. As long as the content of the advert is good you will get a good price.

You see, I've never EVER had a problem! Sold a Rover 414 on Ebay. £600 reserve, BIN of £800. Went for £1100!! Glad no one did buy it now...
Just state that there is a low reserve so people still think they are getting a bargain, even when reserve is met.
