I am finding that twin 40's on ramflow air filters are on the noisey side . I was thinking of building /buying a closed air box that will work with twin carbs. Something like this. www.twminduction.com/Filter/FilterAirBox.htmlAnyone used such a set up? Are there cheap/ DIY alternatives?

The old Lotuses used to have an arrangement like that box but on the intake it had a silencer that looked like an exhaust silencer. I've seen the same on Jags. My suspicion is that adding the box itself won't make it much quieter as it will echo and resonate inside. Run it down some ducting to the front with thick pipes and it will aim the noise forwards of the car and it might help.

If i remember right changing the length of the trumpets helps make then louder/quieter then again maybe it was just the tone

If you haven't got any type of ram pipe on them then get some. Side draughts run much better with them!

Is this some form of tube that channels the air on to the carbs?? BTW, no trumpets, they have Ramflow air filters on them ( Aussie spec K&N equivalent)
