I know this is slightly hipocritical because I am pretty slow at dealling with stuff but...
I'm getting really needled at the moment.
Why do people say they are going to do something and then just plain can't be arzed?
I spend ages hunting down people with stuff I need, agree a price with them, agree payment or whatever terms with them, and then I ask for the final stage like "and how much for the postage?" or where do I send the money? or give me your address I'll be down one evening to pick it up... and then silence.
I had all the parts I need for my Chrysler all lined up and one by one everything has evaporated into what I can only assume is appathy of people who don't want my money.
One part I've been through three people who all said they had the goods, even finally dropping on the guy who has a new one and when I say "OK I'll pay the price for a new one" its "Oh, I don't actually have one but I can get you one in a couple of weeks from the US"
A couple of guys have been great. One guy even mailed me a part I needed from the US for free! Another guy had some cop spec subframe mounts I need to stiffen up the front end. Cost to ship them is insane (they are cast iron!) so he spent ages and checked out a supplier of polly mounts which are cheap and light enough to ship, even got me the supplier with the best price.
Just seems to me that the proportion of people who are out to waste my time has increased a fair amount in recent time...
Meh.

Many years ago I changed my driving style to cope with rising fuel prices; I have now reached the stage where I am contemplating keeping my eyes shut in order to lower wind resistance.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

I think the problem is typing something on a forum in a spare 5 minutes is easy, finding the time to dig something out the pit of a garage, then finding some packaging, and remembering to stop at the post office to get it priced up takes time/effort... Which for some people is/feels in short supply... Not excusing it, but I can understand* it somewhat (and perhaps you will too, soon... ) * OK, I might be slightly guilty delays regarding posting stuff I said people could have for nothing

Oh, I understand that people are short on time. I am, and I am even slow sending stuff out people have even paid for... But at least one of the people who isn't providing the goods for me runs a part time business doing this. He's had several weeks to get the part out and weighed up (since well before Christmas).
Also in the past I have found that most people will send stuff, maybe a small number are really concientious, some people send stuff within a week or two and a small number just let you down. Of late is seems like the vast majority are time wasters and only a small minority actually deliver.
