Well it would seem I'm being given a modern estate so this has got too go.
Located just east of Nottingham.
Good points:
120,000 miles, low for age and you really can't tell its done them.
Long MOT think its September 2013 will check.
4/5 months tax if asking price is reached.
Zero rust!
Some patchy history. Volkswagen stamps up to 80k miles.
Pioneer head unit can be left fitted for asking price.
Body work really is as good as it looks, bit swirly but no dents.
Car was fitted with a leather steering wheel from a later model passat and a leather gear gaiter when I first purchased this, original steering wheel available but seriously tatty.
The exterior of this car is practically spotless body work wise, no rust no dents and good paint. Few small scratches and one patch on the passenger door that has been polished through the lacquer pictures don't show it but its small and around the door handle.
Car has a genuine bonrath de-badged grille but the original is supplied in the bonrath box.
The alloys on the car are in ok condition, they could do with a refurbish but they are all straight, little curb rash but nothing major, no flat spots or dings and very well balanced, the tyres on the wheels are pretty shot but if the car is bought for the asking price it will come with 4 part worns all about 6mm+ in the boot.
The car has had a full service at 118670 miles oil and all filters.
New front brake pads at the same time.
New outer O/S CV joint at the same time.
New cam belt included but not fitted.
New thermostat fitted at 119k car now gets perfectly up too temperature.
Along with the thermostat a new coolant temperature sensor was fitted, genuine Volkswagen part. Then too finish it off coolant system was flushed and re-filled with the very important genuine Volkswagen G13 anti corrosion coolant.
Receipts for all the above!
Car starts first time every time, never broken down on me and just keeps going, only minor running fault highlighted below but all parts supplied too sort. (Once they arrive with me.
Not so good:
Interior electrics are iffy, well some of them. The electric windows and interior lights wont work, have been told its something called the convenience unit which is available second hand for about £30-£60 on the bay, it may also just be a fuse but I have changed it too no effect. This has just happened.
Central locking doesn't work off the fob, told this could also be too do with the convenience unit. Locks on the interior button and boot but drivers door lock barrel is broken, mechanism still works so door still locks.
It had the Passat water ingress problem, this has been solved by clearing the plenum drains and sealing the blower motor but it is the cause for the above. Feel I should be honest about this as previous seller wasn't the ingress itself is now solved but the windows and interior lights need too be, that is all it effects.
The blower motor which was a new item fitted by me has split the fan meaning it rubs on the housing at any speed setting above 3/4 depending on its mood (Car has 7 speed settings on fan .) Still under warranty but haven't had the chance too send it back as well winter means I need a blower motor.
Last issue, it has a slight running issue sometimes, I know the exact cause, it has an air leak just before the throttle body caused by a very perished and mostly missing rubber seal, the seal is very hard too get hold of so I have yet too sort this problem, I have coming in the post the part needed too sort this as I found one yesterday so this will be included regardless of sale price, car will then run perfectly, as stated it gets up too temperature perfectly, does not over heat, will run all day faultlessly.
I must highlight that the car still runs very well, it does reasonable MPG for its size and it never cuts out or stops it just occasionally hesitates and smells a bit petroly when stationary.
Parts supplied for asking price:
4x good part worn tyres, not fitted too the car.
1x genuine VW throttle body, thought this was at fault but turned out the old one needed a good clean so provided with the car.
1x cam belt unfitted and brand new (Obviously.)
1x genuine VW grille.
1x intake pipe with rubber seal (part needed for running issue.)
So too sum up one very clean, lowish mileage, long mot with some tax German saloon with some history, for hatch back money.
I have tried too be honest if any questions need answering go ahead.
Price i'm sure relates too the issues it has.
£500 everything included, any offers will just include the intake pipe.
