Here we have a really nice Forester turbo manual AWD in silver with a Prinz LPG kit & certificate. She's basically a detuned Impreza on stilts. She's very straight and presentable with just a couple of minor marks on the bumpers and a small rub on the rear passenger side which I think will polish out and a small push in on the boot. She comes with a private plate, worth £500 apparently! The alloys have been refurbished, there's a towbar with twin electrics, a luggage cover, Subaru mats and she's got the all weather pack with heated seats, front fogs and a massive sunroof. The LPG tank is in the spare wheel well, she does come with a spare, a small compressor and a can of foam? if you don't want to carry the spare. She's got a proper Subaru CAT 1 alarm/immobiliser with 2 fobs & keys, although the button is a bit worn on 1. There's a stack of history including a recent clutch. There are a load of old MOT's, but the current MOT is lost, it can be seen online and reprinted at any station. It is valid until Sept & taxed until the end of March. I have the complete V5.
I bought this with an intermittant stuttering problem which I've traced to the boost solenoid. The guy I got it off had had the coilpack, leads, and plugs all changed and a diagnostic run but it failed to sort it out. The car runs perfectly some of the time, then the power cuts and she holds back. It's not fuel, as she does it on petrol and gas, the leads/plugs & coilpack have been changed so after a bit of googling I found the 2 port boost solenoid could be dirty. I took it off and cleaned it with brake cleaner with the test plugs connected. After putting it back on, Bingo, she was perfect. All day yesterday and this morning she was fantastic, but the problem came back on the way back from Reading this afternoon. When it stops raining I'll clean the solenoid again, but obviously there's no guarantee this will be a premanent fix if at all.
This is a fabulous car and I would keep it, but the missus is a nervous driver and loves her 306 HDI and I already have an LPG jeep. I guess she's crying out for a manual boost controller with the wick turned up a bit, but that's up to you. If I keep her I would also do a brake fluid change as they are a bit spongy. If it doesn't sell here, I'll change the valve and put it on autotrader.
