Did our best to recreate a photo found of my father and I in 1982 washing the car. Despite the rain and a lack of bobble hat and red wellies, here's the same people, the same car, the same red coat- three decades apart. i've grown a bit taller since then.. --Phil

Fantastic. Love that your fence has stayed while others are all gone.

Absolutely love this photo. As dangermouse said, I wish I could keep cars long enough for this concept to be a possibility for myself. Did you post a photo similar to this a while ago? Looks familiar...

Thanks for the replies, all. It's not the same bucket, although it's retro 70's "Panda Plastics" one so fits in nicely. The whole street used to have fences like the one up top- there used to be an active cattle farm at the end of the street and they'd herd the cows down the road. I had posted the original a while back as an interesting historical point- hadn't been back here in the UK until now to be able to re-make it. All a bit of fun, involving bloody knuckles, laying in the water on the street to get underneath with a trolley-jack handle to knock the jammed fuel pump whilst blocking the road, battery chargers and a lot of tarpaulin and bungee cords... ...worth it though --Phil
