Sorry for the modern car question but i'm a bit lost here Went to fill up the wifes car for her yesterday and its not right....... she said it was a pain to fill and I can completely understand why now i've tried. The filler neck is not big enough to fit the whole nozzle in (almost like trying to put a diesel nozzle in a petrol!!) and if you push it in as far as it will go (about 1") it cuts out every 2 seconds like its full. I'm guessing its not normal? If you know someone who has one could you find out for me? Have some retro Chrysler's as penance

Its annoying me because its getting about 22mpg..........
The mother in law has an 06 voyager and the nozzle fits in fine, but would get backed up every 5 seconds or so, turned out the end of the filler cap had fallen off and was the perfect size to block the pipe. The filler cap on the cruiser is the same and the metal cap bits missing but doesn't answer the question about the nozzle not fitting.

To end this one, the Uk diesel nozzles only fit into the filler pipe about 2" Also appears i have the same issues as the voyager had and the metal bit of filler cap is stuck in the filler pipe restricting flow

Apologies if you've tried this, but will it go in any better with the nozzle upside down or at some funny angle? My Rover clicks off the fuel filler every few seconds if I try with the nozzle the right way up, but it goes in further and doesn't stop if the nozzle is upside down.

I've been informed its normal for the nozzle to only go in about 2", also its lost the metal cap off the filler cap down into the filler pipe which is restricting flow, as i said above.
