Can anyone give me some pointers where to look,
my van died on me yesterday and one of the local mechanics recovered me and has had a look and confirmed ive got air in the system, now he cant find any diesel leaks and suggested i take it to my local Diesel pump & injector specialiat power drive of portsmouth.
before i do this, is there anywhere i should check? are there any known weak spots?
the vans been running fine, but was parked up for a week and now it wont even start without bleeding the system first, then withen 30 mins it conks again so its got to be letting in a lot of air, ive not had it apart yet but will do so monday
Ta

only takes a little air to stall a diesel ,
check the bladder pump thing as these often go , the connections and bends on the fuel pipes and the fuel filter and housing,.

If it's not leaking out but air is getting in it will most likely be the vacume side of the system not a presurised side, IE anything berfor the main injection pump, pipes, lifter pump, fuel filter ect, 90% of the time it's the fuel filter O ring or the seal under the filter pump button (if you have one), does it pump up hard and stay hard for at least 10 seconds ?

its often handy to pop some clear fuel pipe in places to narrow down the air leak, ie pre fiter, after filter and any other areas before the pump.
