As some of you will know and others will have guessed I like my Japanese Roadsters Mazda flavoured, however, that doesn't mean that my head can't be turned now and again. This is one such occasion, you see, over here, even though it's starting to get on a bit, the Honda S2000 is still something of an 'enthusiasts' car, it's rare you see one that looks as if it's taken any abuse and even ones in daily use tend to be well maintained and spotless. I guess what I'm saying is that the S2000's of the UK, on the whole, tend to live a pretty cushy, pampered life.
Which is why this Japanese one caught my eye. Quite obviously it's been built to take abuse and is used with a lot of purpose. I have no doubt that a lot of money and effort has gone into it, but it certainly doesn't appear to spend it's days tucked up in a garage, waiting for the right day to go for a gentle country drive. So I guess the question is can you ever see the S2000 being used similarly over here? I think prices are a little high right now for them to be seen as RWD drifty fun on a budget, but if you look at MX5's a few years back you could have said the same about them. Could it be just a matter of time before people like myself, who enjoy cheap, RWD, roof down motoring, have our heads turned towards the Honda, or is the MX5's CROWN as king/queen of the budget Roadsters a safe one?
