There's all different kinds of outrageous, I guess. But since you said "the most outrageous cars you've seen" I'll select a few personal faves to illustrate this point (rather than plunder the 'web, lol). Firstly, SnakePit for actually needing six Edelbrock built-up big blocks. And for metalflake, and six wheels, because it simply wasn't getting attention otherwise... ;D    Cosmotron II for being a modern return to the old skool over-the-top bonkers drama of the custom scene. And for proving BMW Z-series are actually good for something at last...    Taz Racing for stuffing ludicrously inappropriate engines into the tiniest of Fiats  Ferrari for enclosing the wheels on an F1 missile and calling it a road car  This rat Beetle for being a small amount of car wearing a huge amount of engine  ...and finally to FireForce for pushing the bounds of what is possible far beyond the boundariess of what is sensible  |

Fireforce isn't that outrageous. YouTube Sammy Miller Vanishing Point and watch the vids. Hydrogen Peroxide rocket car, which still holds the world record for the fastest 1/4 mile - 3.58@386mph.

I think a lot of cars that we almost take for granted these days could be classed as pretty outrageous. I mean, take the Metro 6R4 for example, if Group-B had never existed nor would the 6R4 so just think how outrageous it would be if someone took a Metro and decided to build something similar had the factory car never existed? It's all a matter of perspective in a way.  |

Yeah, well aware of Sammy Miller and what he achieved. Never saw him drive though, and the OP said most outrageous cars you've seen, not the most outrageous cars you've heard about. But you're right, of course. FireForce is, of course, totally pedestrian and uninspired, my mistake. Because you can see jet engine-powered cars with afterburners on any street corner that are capable of running 5 second quarter miles at the best part of 300mph, and capable of doing it twice a day without any apparent reliability issues. Forget I ever mentioned it  In much the same way presumably Thrust SSC will become a pitiful old jalopy if the Bloodhound goes faster than it, yeah? |

I've seen plenty of outrageous cars online, but few in person and even fewer when I've had my camera, but here's some that I feel qualify. 3 litres and front wheel drive.  Metalflake brown, cowprint interior, L plates and not wearing Minilites.  arglebarglebargle. Jensen.  They came from the factory like that!  Escort.  V8 powered Capri, this is all you need to see to understand it.  Franklin... steam powered car. I found this inordinately exciting, and still do, and the decoration of it is quite ostentatious, including a clock inside the rear view mirror and cut glass carriage lamps for interior lighting.    This, however, is possibly the most outrageous thing I've ever photographed.    |

Now now Mr Volksangl, the Austin 3 Litre was RWD, not FWD. Despite looking similar to the 1800 Landcrab, it wasn't that similar at all.
