I do agree, although the plate is both illegal and a MOT fail for incorrect spacing Couple of questions. Why illegal? And the spacing on a UK car I get........ however if you have an American car with a numberplate space only that size...... would that be a fail? Ohh, and would you fail it, or even report it, were you not a MOT tester? I had the same discussion/argument with a copper who pulled me for a plate on my Delorean. There is physically not enough room to put UK car sized letters on the rear plate. So you use motorcycle size letters, which are obviously smaller. He was about to nick me for it, when I pointed out that the law states if you have to modify the bodywork to make the letters fit (on an imported vehicle) you can in fact modify the letters to fit the space available. He looked it up & left

Listening to the Carthrottle podcast recently and they sometimes have input from an anonymous copper - he says the two most likely things to get you pulled are illegal tints, and illegal number plates. Given that you'd end up with points it doesn't seem worth the risk. Points for what? You don’t get points for a plate....yet Defo do for tints, my neighbour just got a CU20

Think I’ve been nicked 7 times for small ones on bikes (as you do) none of them particularly tiny (7x 5) I usually have. Think about the first 4 times were £40, through 80’s & 90’s, then it went to £60. Last one I had was £100.

In theory if you get pulled twice for an incorrect number plate then the DVLA can withdraw the plate and issue you with a new random onw, rarely happens though. Think it is mostly aimed at people using dodgy spacing or bolt placement to make it "read" like a different plate because they are too cheap or couldn't get the private plate they wanted.

And that Austin Healey isn't, and it being a rebody should be on white and yellow plates possibly But then I've never understood the fascination with black number plates in the UK on owt made after 1972 either

I don’t really get the small plates & letters thing now either, because with the tech available you can read pretty much anything. Let’s be honest if you snap a pic of a vehicle going by at 70 mph with a sh1tty smart phone you can read it perfectly well

I like the idea of as close as possible to an original American style plate on my imported truck. I do see the reflective, white and yellow plates as a safety essential item. I get really pisssed when plates are missing of any vehicles, as it makes them less visible when lights fall on them.

It was pretty tidy, I did go home and put my bid in, but I was soon outbid. To be honest as much as I like it I didn't put in a huge bid as I don't need another non running project that I never get around to doing something with.

Stole this off FB I love the whole look, except the lost space in the bed. But I do get it, and accept it for that.

Dennis in St Louis has been building this 1966 C10 on. Modern NASCAR chassis for a while. However, he is now hitting it hard, in order to get out and drive it. The weekend he went out and drove to Mittler Brothers factory. He was very good friends with the late Mike Mittler and did the bodywork for their racing trucks. His C10 is built and based around a 2015 truck. From this. To this. Not finished yet, and the cab will get paint soon.

Yes definitely, this blokes caravan is 20 odd foot long, but with the Ram on the front it must be 40 ft of more 😀

Spotted while out and about on my travels... I liked it... I just couldn't afford it. That makes me wonder. The VAG plate on that's very nearly the same as on my mate's Bluebird bus that came off the US airbase in Norfolk. Makes me think that maybe this thing was brought over by a US airman maybe

Came out of a store this afternoon to find this parked next to my daily. I liked the inside of the tailgate, even if it's a ford...
