Hi guys,
Mrs MiniDan's Audi has had a problem for ages before she brought it (was her dads) where if you accelerate reasonably hard it'll get to about 2.5k and loose all power but the car will jolt like your using the gears to slow down and after about 2-3 seconds it'll be fine again. It happens in all gears. If you accelerate gently it's fine and there's never a problem.
The car is an 1999 Audi A4 (B5) with a 1.8 n/a engine with 238k on the clock. Apart from this fault the engine is fantastic. It's just had a service (oil, oil/air filters, spark plugs). I've put my diagnostic tool on the car but there is no power to the socket. No idea why.
Can anyone shed any light on what's happening?
Hopefully I'll be having a look at the throttle body to see if it's gunked up as I've had many a mid-late 90's VW that's had a gummed up TB.
Cheers guys
