go for a 4G63 imo or if youve set your heart on tjose 3 get the 1jz its the strongest out of all of them and for only £100 more than the CA18 which is getting a bit old now

Have you got any pics, spec etc? £120 for everything not sure on specs ? I`ll get you some pics later as I am down there I even have the Trans Tunnel out of the car as well to weld in if you need to I drove it back and it went very well, no smoke, boosted well etc, Really nice engine and lovely power delivery Let me know or give me a ring if you want to chat about it... complete with everything and got loads of the ancilleries as well intercooler, oil cooler, prop flange, exhaust

I would say the ca18det or a ca20det from a s13/s14. Chain driven (so no cambelt) Engine were in UK and import models so more choice Easier to find parts The RX7 lump would be cool but costly and less robust. The Soarer lump I reckon might be hard to get parts for. The Skyline lump is longer and heavier. Correct me it I am wrong! Does it have to be J? Cosworth YB anyone!

what about a nice pinto from a scrapyard. Stick a carb on from a granny V6 for some extra power and unburned hydrocarbons FTW.

Yes it does have to be japanese I'm affraid, I like my engines with oil on the inside only besides I'm only a couple of miles fom the essex border and thats YB territory ;D ;D

Have you thought about the Lexus/Toyota 4.0 V8? All alloy,light as a feather,a v8,torquey and 300bhp easily attainable and utterly bomb proof.
Failing that i'd do the CA18DET or the SR20DET
