Been lurking the pages of many-a google to find what these wheels are, yet i've been unable to find what they are. The last picture is a test fit on a Mk1 MX5, (need a tape measure!), i assume from this they are in the region of 4x4" fitment. They are 14"x5.5 ET 28 Any idea?

Yeah, they're Austin/Rover wheels, As Dez says they'll be 4x3.75" PCD (95.25mm). Not quite close enough to get onto the Mazda's 4x100 unfortunately. (4x4" is 101.6mm.)

Metro turbo wheels to be exact, had a set which I painted white and fitted to my first Metro (11 years ago now!)
EDIT: Actually being 14" they might be Meastro/Montego wheels???

I don't think they are, they are a slightly different cast to the MG/Rover Maestro/metro turbo wheels. They do have some stamps in the back that resemble a aftermarket wheel.

I don't think they're aftermarket, they've got an Austin-Rover badge on them (On the left in your last picture): Being 14's, like the other Robin says I'm guessing they're Maestro/Montego.

I was beaten to it as monty wheels, Don't tighten them onto your hubs or you'll bend the studs.

If you want to flog them let me know, I'm trying to build up a few of them for a race project I'm considering (Metro Gti), and they are quite light for what they are. Let me know

Just to say I agree about them being early montego VP wheels! I had an estate with a set of them on many, many years ago.

To get a standard A40 this low, you'd have to dig a hole to put it in
