what are your guys views on these?
was looking for a vr6 with manual gearbox, but needed something quite big to carry disco gear about in.
its silver, has 112k on clock, L plate, good condition 2.8 vr6 174bhp
paying £900 for it
whats the first thing you would do with it for a bit more performance

Love them!! For performance start with a Induction kit and exhasut as per usual I would say.
It'll be a b4 shape? I imagine you've already checked out UKpassats?

£900 is a bargain! Tubular manifold and sports exhaust would be my first thoughts, the manifold should release a bit more power and the exhaust will get that lovely 6 cyl sound out

Sierra - here we go again! He has an illness, it's not his fault.

Good work - I wouldn't mind a '6 wagon

Sounds like a really good car. My only real experience of Passats is with my old GL5 and the VR6 sounds like a worthy successor. After the engine/exhaust mods, you can get yourself a coil-over kit (people seem to be using PhilJ's stuff without too much bother) and a set of Porsche rims! ;D I assume you're already spending time at www.cleaned.be for inspiration.

good choice,my only advice would be to see that its a 'real' one,i saw a scary vr6 conversion a while back based on a 1.9 diseasel estate,it still had the dinky disc/drum brakes on it.

oooh...oooh.........i've got one aswell ;D absolutely fan-fecking tastic car, probably the best overall car i've ever had....... sadly, it languishes in the garage waiting for it's heart to be transplanted into something smaller........the old girl needs too much spent on her to make it viable mine's a '94 on the 'm', in classic green pearl, quite a rare car apparantly....she ran on the rollers 3 times....the best was 193, which was nice, standard apart from itg filter. oh....she did a 15.6 at the pod too...........which i don't think is bad for a fat old estate as long as you've got a good 'un, you won't be disappointed at all ;D

thats a cracking time at the pod for such a big standard car. was it with its full interior aswel.
i have signed up for the ukpassat site but waiting until the confirmation comes through from moderator so i cant post yet. think i might have found a new site to spend endless hours on.
when you had 15.6 what sort of 0-60 was your getting, got to be around 7.5secs
I'm thinking 6 branch manifold, itg filter and exhaust. that will do for now. will supercharge it next year when i finally get my g40 back together to sell
