Lucky git Do you need someone to carry your bags?

I like long walks, especially when they're taken by people I don't like.

Nice one ;D, Get yourself a copy of "Cultureshock! A survival guide to customs and etiquette, JAPAN" by P.Sean Bramble it's printed by Marshall cavendish and was last updated in 2006, I've just finished reading it and it's full of really usefull stuff that you'll only find out the hard way otherwise. I't's worth the £10.99 price for the chapter on Settling in, quite an eye opener when it comes to renting and deposits etc, it also talks about driving, crime, the shocking state of healthcare, banks (The Japanesse have no idea what a Cheque is!), food etc etc etc. Good luck

I have been to Nagoya a couple of times but only for the day each time. So havent seen much other than the Toyota museum I am normally up at Tajimi and Akechi ( a few miles out of Mizunami city) The cities arent as much of a culture shock as the smaller villages. Westerners are rarely seen and regarded as aliens in some of the places you have been. Althoug hthat could have just been me

I think being about a foot and a half taller than most of the locals may have a wee bit to do with that, dude *n
