quick everyone go look, there is some retro bloke on there trying to pretend he's "hip" and "down with the kids"
if only those modified car folks knew that underneath his mental modified exterior there is a bloke he likes to rock about in crappy old bmw's and transits

It's so annoying when a presenter tries to sound like they know what they're talking about, or pretend to have an interest in the subject matter. It shows straight through I think. Hang on...

He's talking about an event called Ten of the Best in York that I work on, it randomly gets aired on M&M. Normal service will resume shortly...
Funnily enough I really enjoy the day, it's just that it's always stupidly manic and none of us have slept much the night before. So some of the stuff I come out with is pretty random...
Some of the vehicles there are incredible, but of course my favourites are things like Andy's Maestro, the blown V8 Mk2 Granada and the Cossie Transit.
I've never seen it on TV as I don't have Sky, but it was your 'mental modified' comment that gave the game away. That and the shonky BMWs and Transits, although you forgot Volvos. ;D

yeh i actually like watchin ten of the best, its better than most of the stuff on tv, it just suprised me to see you on there.
yeh the granada and the cossie transit are my favourites, nice to see them upagainst the fast modern stuff, most of the impreza's and evo;'s always look ridiculously fast but i cant help wonder about some of the ability of the drivers

This will be my fifth year! The standard of driving is very varied, but for a lot of guys it'll be the first time they've ever tackled a handling circuit, which itself isn't really suited to the larger cars like the Vipers and Skylines. That Cossie Transit was quicker than a lot of Imprezas and Evos, which is a good example of driver skill. One of the guys that sets it out each year has a blat around in his own Zetec'd Mk1 Cortina to try the lines... So now you know what it's best suited for

I've seen a couple of the TOTB shows (compulsory when you used to own a 4x4 Toyota and the Fennies boys are there) on TV.
I wish their Corolla would be more reliable. Rocket needs some competition.

Have you seen there new Gen 7 Celica then? 4x4, developed Corrola motor, did well last year but promises more for this season. Plus Rocket Ron was beaten last year by Simon Norris in his Evo. There are some amazing cars being built as I write, although I'm firmly retro, if I had the money and owned everything else I want... A big Skyline would be on the list. To keep it retro... These were at last years event.

Love the T16. Such a rare beast. I'm sure Ronnie will be back, but I love the way Norris have come on in the last couple of years.
I wasn't aware of the new Gen 7 Fennies car. Haven't kept up the modern J car scene since I sold the 185.
