Hiya I'm in need of a favour..... need something sending from the good old US of A to me in the cheapest way possible Basically. I've found a source of new repro US-style rear lamps for VW T3s/Ghias - the oh-so-popular red rear look. Where UK dealers want anything up to £75 a pair posted, they've got them for about £9 each ($14). Trouble is, even though they're quite light they're a bit big, and shipping will be $100 or more according to the dealer, who use UPS airmail. I don't really need them that quickly, so if I can get them posted to a US address, then forwarded on using surface mail, that'd be ideal. Obviously postage + time will be more than generously covered, don't want anyone losing out! Just need a retro-friendly face over there. Thanks!

Do you want to bring me back a set of 914 wheel arch flares as well? I might mean you leaving all your clothes in Florida though

Insist the seller use US post.it's cheap and more efficient (with online tracking etc) than UPS ,which is a rippoff organisation with highly inflated prices, which are on average twice the cost of postal services world wide.

Many years ago I changed my driving style to cope with rising fuel prices; I have now reached the stage where I am contemplating keeping my eyes shut in order to lower wind resistance.

Archieboy - fancy bringing me back a 5-cylinder cam in your suitcase? There would happily be a few quid in it for you (yes, you should have used PM )

They are kidding. I paid $25 or less to have a pair of Oldsmobile tail light lenses shipped from the US.

archie - you got pm dude I know the postage is a ripoff, but there's a bit section on their website saying how they'll only use UPS because of problems with other carriers yada yada. Sounds more like they get commission of some kind. I know I can get a box full of cds, with a hoodie too (so it's bigger and heavier) sent from the US via surface mail for about $15 and it took just a week to get here.
