Hi Folks, Looking for some components to build a solution to my space issue.. Problem: Garage is just wide enough for 2 cars, but in order to fit 'em both in, one car needs to slide aside. I've used wheel dollies, (machine mart), Go-jack type things and mobile axle stands and they all kinda work. The pain is having to jack the car up in order to get in or out ! I'm looking for a drive on-drive off system. Solution: A couple of drive on ramp type things mounted on a rail for ease of sliding ! I want it to be super low so it does not get in the way To make it work I need some really tough wheels/rollers and a rail for them to run in ! Any thoughts on where I can source, (cheaply), something like this....(to run on top of a angle bolted to floor) ![](http://img28.imageshack.us/img28/8837/1wheel1.jpg) Uploaded with ImageShack.usReckon I'll need about 20 of them. There are commercial systems available but too expensive for me ! Cheers Gerry

At the Footman james show last weekend in Birmingham I saw a company with motorcycle movers, they would be ideal for what you are looking for, see if I can get a link ![](http://www.cjautosheywood.co.uk/MB0303.jpg) if wide enough for a car wheel, 2 of these would make a roll on roll off car mover i have a slightly bigger than a double garage with 5 cars in it, 3 are moved into place by the traditional wheel skate type

I've used two sheets of hardboard before, like the back of a flat packed item, shiny sides touching and really surprising how easy you can slide a car about on them!

I'd go for a set of wheel skates, they'll fit on any car then.

i made 2 H frames from box section with caster in each corner, one under each axle. no channels to get blocked up or rails to trip over.

We have a four post ramp at work with a rolling jack, the wheels of which are steel centred nylon these run in a chanel on each side of the ramp something like that could work. ![](http://www.boston-ge.com/images/pit_jack2_l.jpg) Like that but nylon wheels and sideways rolling could be possible and easy too make.

when i had my first garage it had a single up and over door but it was a double unit, i went out and found 8 14 ft half inch thick angle to run across the garage as rail's then i made 4 trolleys to carry each wheel then i could drive what ever size car up on to the rollers and then push one to one side and drive the other along side it
