So back in 2003 my brother and I went to Budapest, in his rally-prepped Lada. We spent two weeks with a guy called Zoltán Houdek who runs a Hungarian Lada club at www.zsiguli.hu/ . We went to go to their annual camping/competition weekend which was in Tiszafüred, quiite a bit further into the Hungarian plains. There, we went to a local track for racing against the clock, and to a tarmac marketplace which was laid out in a fantastically tight and twisty circuit for some competitive fun.
We also got to visit lots of interesting Lada-people, saw plenty of Budapest, and went to a mega cool race-car prep outift to have a good look around.

I'm sure Avtovaz (my brother) will be along at some point to answer any questions you may have ;D
I'm slowly getting all my interesting galleries online! ;D
"Our" car (well, my Brothers...) I think I still have hearing damage from sitting for thousands of miles in a car with a straight-cut gearbox, noisy LSD, massive induction roar and no soundproofing!
one of the many we saw:
Cool early CRX, spotted in Budapest:
Fascinating place (I posted the Merc 190 we saw there in another thread recently):
Causing quite a stir amongst the others at the camp site:
A right-hand-drive Lada is unusual there, and they were confused as to why we had driven all the way from North-West England ;D
On the track, kicking up a dust storm:
(blimey it was HOT!)
Fitting front slicks for the event at the marketplace:
Giving it some serious stick:
Nice:
Err, well it's different... Fiat Twin-cam power too:
and finally, our hosts car next to ours:
A great fortnight that I'll never forget!
