I am turbocharging my 1108 Fire powered Fiat 500, to do this I need to convert to fuel injection The car has a standard one way feed with low pressure pump.
I think I have a few choices but need some advice as to what route is best or any other ideas that you might have
The first option is to fit an external swirl pot fed by the low pressure pump with an external high pressure one to the injection system
The second option is to get a tank custom made with a swirl pot built in with either an internal or external high pressure pump.
The third option is to modify the existing tank fitting a swirl pot and an external or internal high pressure pump
What do you guys think and can you recommend anybody who can make a new tank or modify my existing one?

yeah id go for the first one, def the easiest.
Saying that I'm in serious consideration of getting a bag tank due to the configuration of my car (same as yours engine in the back fuel tank in the front), would be a hell of a lot safer in a crash (god forbid).

What you do is find a vehicle that's got an in-tank combination swirl pot/high pressure pump, cut out the section that retains it in the fuel tank, drill an appropriate sized hole in your existing tank and then weld in the EFi section, bolt it all up - voila - in tank EFi pump. This is what's been done on mine and it's so much quieter than an 'orribly noisy lifter and external hi-pressure pump - much less hassle as well

I can do you a custom swirl pot or Tank, whatever you need You have my email address Fella ;D Ahhh thats worth knowing - my Monza (in tank) Swirl pot is insufficient for long sweeping corners with half a tank or less fuel wise I was thinking - custom tank with bigger internal swirl pot and smaller overall capacity to lose a bit of weight or - Additional swirl pot with bigger capacity Any thoughts

Another option is additional low pressure lift pumps in either side of the existing tank to keep the internal swirl pot filled or a new Sump section on the bottom of the existing tank to give a greater capacity swirl pot. Tank foam always helps but doesnt work with all fuel level senders and is expensive "Retail" HTH Dom

Sorry to hijack the thread...
Dom, I need a tank making for my beach buggy. There are obviously plenty of people I could go too, but I'd prefer to pay money to somebody I sort of know. Make sense? PM me if you want to keep the thread clear...

My Pops and I cut the swirl pot and high pressure in tank pump out of a Scorpio and fitted it into my tank. The swirl pot was spot welded into the bottom of the tank and the pump mounting part (cut out of the Scorpio) will be soldered into a hole in the top of the tank.

But if I recirculate the fuel to the swirl pot using lift pumps and the return feed am I gonna be curse word into the wind I wonder?
