I'm looking at fitting one of these electric power steering pumps (from a Vauxhall Ashtray mk4) to my Evo2 and the Triumph will probably have the same too if the chevy V8's a bit tight in the hole.
My question is: how are they wired up? there are two thick wires (red and black) which i take to be +ve and -ve but there a small multi plug with another 3 wires.
I take it the electric steering pump system has some sort of activation trigger to kick in the pump or does it just run all the time?
With a std mechanical pump, is there a bypass valve that allows the fluid to circulate until you turn the steering?
I wish i'd thought it out a bit better before starting,
