Hi everyone, i was just wondering who does Ford engine swaps ? its not really retro, but i am looking at buying a mk5/6 escort, I'm thinking of getting a 2.0 zetec engine fitted rather than the 1.6 ,, and was surious as to who does these conversions?
Are there any companies that do this for a few hundred quid ?

No idea where you are but a company who will do it for a few hundred ? you might find a back street mmechanic who'll do it for that but a few hundred at a company would just about get the old engine out  If your near essex then Steve Taylor on 07931 426815 is the man, he's swapped just about every engine you could think of into old and newish fords but don't be expecting to get an engine swap and mods for £200  |

got a good 1800 zetec in a escort here still running you can have the whole car for 150 if you like

got a good 1800 zetec in a escort here still running you can have the whole car for 150 if you like where abouts is that car? i am in manchester and if its close i'd take it for the engine swap its easy enough to do it yourself you just need to use the water pump and sump off the 1.6/1.8 and the 2.0l ECU this place can do your conversion for you though www.mda-motorsport.co.uk/ |

My website gives details of the above parts swaps for converting a Mondeo 2.oltr Zetec to 'Escort' spec.
I have try'd to stick up a link but I can't seem to get the url for the specific page.
Click on the link in my sig, then 'Escort Upgrades'. Click on 'Engine' from the left hand menu, then click on 'Zetec'. Scroll down until you find a link (blue text) to 'Parts Swap'

Still rectifying all the faults now. Either he previous owner ran out of money or Mr taylor was taking the wee wee little simple things like vacuum hoses were all in the wrong places, engine mounts wasnt fitted right, etc... don't know the scenario, but the engine planting was appalling when I got her |

I've had similar experiences with ST, in my experience if he thinks he can get away with taking the curse word he will do, that why I didn't go to him when i needed help with my 24v Cortina.

Thought I was the only one who thought this
Guy couldnt even be arsed to fit a VSS to the t9 box to stop it stalling,
the previous owner spent a whole heap of money with him to sort this motor out,
and when I got it, it was a absolute curse word to drive
I took it to my mates garage, and it spent a week there having the vacuum hoses put back in the right places, the sensors corrected, still has various bits of wiring missing, even the fecking engine mounts were wrong, glad I wasnt his customer, as I would happily curse word slap him
