I'm planning on upgrading the suspension on my 1967 Hillman Minx. So far I haven't been able to turn up a set of higher rate front or rear springs such as you would find in a Rapier or an Estate.
Can anyone tell me where I could have higher rate coil springs made for the front struts, and where I could take the extra set of rear leaf springs I have to have some extra leafs put in?
I'm near Heathrow so I'd prefer somewhere in Surrey, Hampshire Sussex etc.

There's a place in Wembley that can sort out leaf springs for you eg. de-camber and add leaves as necessary. They can also get longer U-Bolts made if you need them. Look on yell or google for Paddington Motor Springs. I have also used a coil spring manufacturer that does one offs but there up in Buntingford I think it is, Herts. Alpha Springs of you want to find them.  |

Second vote for Paddington Springs, they made a pair of new ones on my Anglia and made a nice job of it. Got them to make them with 7 leaves instead of 5 and 2" lower. Worth asking in case they can make the coils as well. The rears on mine were about £125 for the pair.

Thanks for the advice. £125 seems like a reasonable price, especially if they are making new springs. Mine are so weak that a full tank of petrol will make the back end sag.

Nah different length, Anglia ones are a lot shorter. Multi-leaf ones ride nicer on the road from what I've heard.
