I turned 17 in December which meant with my current CBT I was no longer limited to 50cc, but to a massive 125cc! So, on Saturday we loaded up my Simson onto the trailer and drove 200 miles to swap it for a 125cc MZ. We then drove back the 200 miles and were home at 7pm - just in time for me to go to work! I was sad to see the Simson go as it has been great fun over the last year despite its low power. Really was a fun little bike. The new bike is a 1986 MZ TS125. Its the very same bike that my sister had back in about 1994. Its been passed around and has ended up back with us. It's a world apart in some respects from the Simson. You sit higher, and it is a 'proper' sized bike, not only that but it has luxery such as main beam, indicator warning lights and a rev counter! However, a lot of the trim is quite recogniseable. Here are some pics from when I took it out earlier - I am so very pleased with it! * the top box is not staying! What do you guys think?

For the time being I've just swapped my policy over from the Simson which cost £40 till April TPFT. I've not tried wheeling, but when you give it some welly pulling away it does go quite quick (compared to a 50cc!) You can race me, I reckon there will be all of 0.11% competion though!

cafe racer look FTW. Great suggestion. That would be so easy to achieve and a complete win/win situtation... DO it.

I did it to my CG125 when I turned 17, cost me about £15 for some hack saw blades, a diddy rear light a couple of cans of paint and some leather to make up a little belt down saddle. The drop bars I got for free... Ahh, memories. You truly would be the king of the bad asses riding around on a cafe racer MZ.

OK, as previously stated I know nothing about bikes but if it were mine I'd:
Loose the blue box and tube brackety thing. Pain the box thing with the EBC sticker on it black to "loose" it visually. Paint the mudguards and non-chromed bit of the tank a cool colour. Find a cool old chromey tail/brake light. Find some nice small old and chromey indicators to tuck in close to the forks and rear guard Loose the big mirror. Use a smaller round one if I had to. Paint a nice wide "scallop" on the helmet. Add some Pinstriping to taste.
Job done ;D

Cool buddy.
Now ride safe, and enjoy every moment
Also remember that there is little difference between "Invincible" and "Invisible"
I have ridden since age 14, will be 44 on Wednesday this week, and used to ride like invincible as a kid, today I thank my 2 very fit guadian Angels.
Well done on the new ride.

Reminds me, back in September, there was an absolutely mint looking Cafe Style racer MZ 125 like mine that had been converted by Guy Allot (an MZ dealers - my Simson came from there). It was gorgeous. I can see what you're saying, that it would look good and all, but i'm not sure. I really quite like how it looks now, though it could do we re-painting. I think though, first I'll just use it for a bit. Keep the suggestions coming though

Used to see plenty of these about Personally,I wouldn't do the Cafe racer thing I,d leave it as is.If you came up Box Hill on it,it would stand out just for being what it is.A bit of an iconic old bike (I don't mean no offense by that either!) When you do do your test, you could always consider a KTM..................... ;D ;D
