Hello there, I'm new to the site, just joined. What a great site this is!! I have finally found a site for 'real' cars!!! I feel at home already!!!;D My history is mainly Imp based (4x Hillman Imps, 1x Chamois Imp & 2x Sunbeam Stilettos) plus a Mini HL, 1275GT & a Dolly 1850. I have also worked on various other quality projects!! I don't own anything retro at the moment due to lack of garage space, but give me time!!! ;D Heres a few pics of my old cars.

Hello, welcome to the forum. Be prepared to use the phrase "Yeah, I'll be there in a sec, just having a look at something" quite alot from now on . I love slightly faded retro photos like that.

Rev - have you been on a recruitment drive? There seems to be a lot of Imp owners turning up lately! I don't mind you rattling on about Imps / Soviet metal / the virtues of communism, etc... it makes for amusing reading! ;D

Thanks comrade! ;D ;D ;D ;D
I have been posting a couple of messages about the site lately. I'm surprised at how many people read them.
By the way Raceimps, I like the pics, especially the little rally car-ish saloon at the bottom.

Hi Raceimps.
Welcome.
I'm another Imp nut on here. Ive got a Nymph and am picking up a dirt cheap Stiletto in a couple of weeks if all goes to plan.

Its MOT ran out last year but it dosent look to bad. Some surface rust and around the windscreen is a patch of rust that may need replacing. Its on Revolution wheels which I want for the Nymph.
I have been chasing this car all year. A guy i work with told me about it. It used to be his dads but now belongs to his mate. The mate has had my number for ages and didnt call me because the car has flat tyres and has been sitting for along time. So I just turned up on his doorstep.

Sounds like it might be a nice car when it's done, and even if it turns out to be a dog, at that price you can always just use it as a spares car for the Nymph, I mean there's the wheels for a start, and the sport engine, so some good will come of it. Remember and keep us posted on it, and we want pics when you get it home! (well I do anyway, I think the rest of them are sick of Imps by now! ;D ;D)

Thanks for the warm welcome!!! ;D The black Imp was an old hillclimb car. I bought the car minus it's mad engine. Still great fun to drive on the road though!! I got a link to this site from the Imp Club Forum. Cheers Rev!! Here's a few more pics of the cars. Here's a few of the black Imp in it's hillclimb days.

8-)Very nice! I think there used to be pictures of that car on www.racingimps.com, although it's no longer there unfortunately. I bought a race/rally Imp without the race engine once. Maybe you're the one to ask about my race/rally Imp I'm reshelling. We got it with a less tuned engine in it, one of the bucket seats missing, the petrol tank and twin strombergs off it and lying in the cabin, and with serious brake problems, plus with no documents and no number plates. That and the shell was some state. So we're building the good bits of it into my standard Super Imp, GGE 524N. But anyway, it used to be raced, in Scotland mostly apparently, by a Russian guy by the name of Ivan Bobronski I'm told, ever heard of him? I'm interested to dig up a bit of the car's past, if only for something to say about it when people ask me about it at car shows etc!

I have given all the pics to the Imp Club and Si has been adding them to the gallery section of the forum. Still loads more to pass on though. Not sure of the history of your car, and I've never heard of Ivan Bobronski. Have you got some pics of your car?

I can only find this one of it during us repairing the bodywork, but I'll tell you what it looks like, and I'll get pictures up soon. You know Adrian Oliver's red and white Imp saloon, when it Weller eight spokes like the pictures of it that were on your site? It's an absolute dead ringer for that. Red with a white roof, white Wellers, Alleybars roll hoop in the cabin, Recaro buckets. The grilles on it were sort of prototypes of the ones we were making for it, when we got it it just had holes cut out of it at the front for a Ford Fiesta radiator. Ignore all the different colours at the front, that's just filler, and the bonnet wasn't painted becuase that was a new fibreglass one we put on it. We're actually about to get rid of the shell, as we're putting all the racing gear into my 74 Super Imp, so anyone on the forum who's looking for glass, doors etc for an Imp saloon is welcome to come up with a trailer and take the lot away, minus engine, rollcage, Wellers bonnnet and some other stuff, as we need rid of it. I'll warn you though, it will have brakes but they'll be knackered, so if you put an engine in it don't try and run it around straight away!
