Check this out - a car chase scene from a 70s French film. The good guy is in a FIat 131, being chased by villains in a VW K70. There is some retro destruction content, but it's worth watching for some of the utterly bizarre and surreal stunts, involving a whole host of retro metal!

Great! Especially when the K70 goes two-wheeling, rolls, turns into a red Simca Aronde, back into a K70 then lands on its wheels again.
Noticed in the credits the name Remy Julienne...the bloke who did all the stunts in 'The Italian Job' :-)

I also must commend the driver of the 131, who drives amazingly well for someone who's just been shot in the chest! ;D

You tube is a weird thing, I`m sure I vaguely remember seeing that on TV when I was about 5. Certainly never expected to ever see it again or find out what it was called. Brilliant chase, all the hallmarks of Remy Julienne, anyone ever see that advert for the 131 he did by driving one over a waterfall?
If you want some obscure retro chase scenes, try finding the Hong Kong sort of Lethal Weapon style series of films called "Mad Mission" - the first one features, among other chases, one between a Trans Am and a Datsun 120Y, where else are you gonna get that? As an added bonus, they got the engine noises wrong way round! Mad Mission 2 has even more of this sort of thing. It`ll all be on youtube somewhere.

That's what we want... real driving and stunts, none of the CGI nonsense. I'd rather see bad continuity between real stunts than see polished hollywood perfection and know it's just done by some geeks on computers. I'll be adding this to my list of "must get" car related films. I think my list is now over 150 films
