Amazing! What type of car is it, looks to me like an old Honda Accord. Anyone beg to differ? If this thread has anything to offer retro-rides its not to drive a Saxo or Pug 106... death traps. Obviously handled this square-on smash with reasonable diginity, in that no one was killed. Was at the NEC Classic motorshow some years ago & one of the displays had pics of smashed classic/retros from years back, kept me intrigued for almost an hour!

having driven a 106 5 door, its gotta be said it takes some work to get them to understeer, they have surprising grip... then again it might just have been my rat-ride... in summary i doubt 45mph round a fast corner would be any grief unless an outside factor came in...

Looks nasty, just glad you and the others were ok. Interesting to see how the little pug has absorbed the impact, would an older motor like an A40 or an anglia or similar do the same or simply snap at the weakest point and fold? Cars have come a long way since then!

^^^^^ Fook Me!!!
Was the driver ok?? He bounced a fair distance from the wall by the looks of things!! Look at the seat deformation!!! Shocking compared to modern motors!

So, judging by the way everyone is having a go about this blokes driving, does that mean that none of you lot have ever driven a car above the speed limit? I don't think so. We all love our cars and i'm sure in the past we've all driven our cars a bit too hard sometimes but luckily we've got away with it, so i don't think its right to have a go at this bloke when we've all gone a bit too fast in the past.

well he didnt walk away,10 stiches in his leg where the window winder handle took a chunk out of his knee ,and a luvverly bump where he head butted the a-post. he had the mark of zorro (a big Z) on his chest where the seat belt caught him and where he hit the steering wheel.neck brace and back board to be safe and really bad concussion for a week or so.i let slip to the fireman attending that i was an ex-rescue marshal ,so he let me take pics and have a look round the car,he did say that if it hadn't had been as solid as it was i may not have had a mate left.the citroen driver went to hospital as a precaution as she had burns due to the airbag, mild concussion and shock. the owner of the wall said it was aregular happening as nearby is a haulage depot and he's seen them slopping diesel out of their tanks on that bend.
