2.0 pinto would fit nicely in that car. Good to see that you are alright after that crash and still having the old cars virus in you . I`m sorry about the capri and i wish you all the best for your new old ford ;D

Are you going to keep the wheels?

Nope, going to find some dish somewhere. feeling some revolutions but don't know how 13s would look. when i get a 2.0 engine and gearbox should i also upgrade the diff? didnt know if it was essential or not.

a 205 block is what you want ideally, slightly thicker walls to take boring out better, but if you don't plan on 2.1ing it then any old pinto will do looks like a really nice car, the right wheels and a touch lower and it will make a real head turner

Agreed, new wheels and new lows, and thats a damn fine car! Also maybe think about sierra twin cam motor, carb'd/injected. Think its meant to be a fairly easy swap. More involved than pinto, other mods needed, but a bit different.

yeah banded steels are something to think about. deffo going lower like 2" all round. that sounds fun danburger28 i'll keep my eye out for one. Any thoughts on the diff? think it will matter much?

the 1300 diff should cope with a mild 2.0 as its the axle used on the lower spec 2.0's GXL'S E's and GT's all had the heavy duty atlas rear. 13's can look good but don't go to low a profile on the tires as the arches are huge and it will look like the body has had an argument with them . engine wise i'll just leave this here

I would go with meaty tires and small rims (13 or 14). I know, maybe it is just me, but i preffer big tyres (you can see that on my car too). I`ll post this here. It looked better with a little lowering in the front so that`s why fkfr ac bgb bla bla , i`m sure you`re not reading this because of the girls
