Is it odd of me to remember the registration number of all my cars?
Actually, scratch that. Ask me in 10 years and we'll see about that ;D

^^ That all depends... if you've had say, 68 cars I'd find it a trifle odd I can remember all the rego's of the car's I have sold though. And more on topic, I saw my old KP60 4 door about 6 months after I sold it, resplendent in a coat of yellow, tastefully brush painted on, and I saw my old 33 laid up on someones lawn with axle stand's under it

I was wondering round RCS last year and i noticed a black charade GTti, then i noticed the KKP number plate, was my old one! They guy i sold it to turned out to be an absolute jockey and he totally thrashed it, it moved between a few people and then to the chap i met. Its a shame as it wasnt immaculate anymore, i miss it loads now I'm going to have another one i think, excellent cars! J

Havent seen many of my old cars as most ended up either miles away or scrapped. Saw my Trooper in scotland a few month after I sold it. Parked next to my XR4X4 in hamsterely forest one day without realising it (had sold it to someone around 50 mile away) And at the minute My old Silvia sold it around 10 month ago to someone who planned to use it for track days.

I was offered my old chopped roof a40 back after the guy I sold it to sold the reg ...got loads of calls from friends who then saw it in Autotrader ..Then found it in a small yard in essex ..then saw a guy who was supposedly restoring it had made a website about it (google ..how i restored my a40 hot rod) Have also seen my stretched hiace van on the NSVA site (in 6 wheel vehicle category)... also seen my old amazon sled at the nats ,and on a website! I looked up the reg of my old a35 circuit racer lookalike van ,but the guy had sold the reg !(that was a one owner van my dad bought in 1962 new !!!!) would love to see /buy back some of my old stuff ,especially the hiace !

My parents used to run a Wolseley 16/60 in the 80's, sold in '87 & saw it a couple of years later under restoration. Used to see it a few times until '92 when found it smashed up by vandals in a dodgy council estate On the DVLA site it shows it was taxed up until '95 though? Would buy it back in a minute. My parents used to run a wedge Princess 2200 HLS (quality tat!) & saw that a couple of months after it was sold in '91, never saw again though & now its probably dead. I had an XR2 for a short time, sold to a guy in 2001 who promised he'd restore it (which he did) & saw it a few times looking mint. He offered it back to me but I had no more room, then saw it with its new owner a few months later. Now suspect its dead too, last taxed 2003. Maybe went XR2 racing methinks. Had a money draining Cavalier Mk3 that I eventually sold before it bankrupted me & used to see it everyday on the motorway going the other way. Didn't see it for a couple of months till I spotted in a scrapyard. Was looking really fresh save for the broken cambelt! Safe engines on those too I thought? Another was a '86 BMW 316 that I had for a little while, used to see for a few years after I sold it until it maybe failed the MOT or something. Most of my other cars are either still owned by me or were sold as spares/scrap so little chance of seeing those again.

I regard selling cars as a big pain . Too many tyre kickers and stupid Q's. TBH I'd sooner let 'em rot and lose money rather than run the selling gauntlet!

I recently saw my old 105e on ebay & couldnt help wonder whether the winning bidder paid the full amount for it Still see 2 of my mk1 cortinas out & about And my old mk1 mex And my old mk2 cortina turned up in the back of classic ford a few months back-4 years after I sold it Nice to know they are still about, not nice to know they are worth a lot more than what I got for them ;D

Buying a BMW or a Bentley & looking cool is easy, but the credit doesn't go to you.Taking an unloved car that cost £500 & making it good enough to get photos in magazines or stand out alongside cars that cost one hundred times more is a skill reserved for us loonies!

Went to a breakers yard some time ago and saw two of my old cars in there, an SD1 rover and a Lancia Delta. Sold my Fiat X1/9 in 1989 and stumbled across it for sale in 2001 so bought it back again as i didn't like what the bloke had done to it so made it look how i wanted it to all those years ago but never had the money.

Once chased my ex's ex Beetle across Nottingham, having realised it was her old one.... caught up with the very bemused guy in a carpark, just wanted to know how he was getting on with it!
My G40 went to Ireland and I got several email updates for it, before getting a link to the advert where he was selling it for over twice what he paid me! Had done a lot of work though.
My Audi Quattro went up to Sheffield, heard nothing of it until the guy I sold it to tried to sell it, some chancer noticed it was on the register as being ex-written-off and tried to get it cheap by saying he 'knew where it had been in the accident, been very badly repaired on the offside sill, really only worth scrap'. Seller emailed me and asked me for a few more details, and I quite happily told him it was me that returned it to the road, and it was only written off for the dent in the tailgate that it was still wearing! Still pops up from time to time on ebay for £600-650, never sells!
My old Golf was swapped with ex's father (the ex with the beetle above) for some furniture, who then swapped it for some work from an electrician and I sometimes see it out and about locally.
