So out of curiosity, are our cars becoming more of a target? In the last 5 years have you experianced any of the above thefts or vandalism or other issues?
Please don't include stuff about the daily driver mondeo, rental cars or whatever, just the Retros.
Hopefully the poll will alow you to pick more than one if applicable. If not then just pick the worst case.

I had £3k worth of tools robbed from my workshop. Luckily, because i'm in the sticks and my cars are mostly either inddors or at least parked in ayard behind a locked gate, getting them thieved is not all that likely.

Is retro crime when someone breaks in an steals your betamax? or when a bank gets robbed by a lad in a 3/14 length brown leather jacket and cuban heels?

Not in the last 5 years but I have been broken into when I left something on the back seat and deliberately bumped on the road.

Not in the last 5 years I don't think. Had mirrors broken off from both Herald and Oxford (on seperate occasions), Flying A broken off my A35 and the Oxford was driven into once when parked, damaging grille, bonnet and trim

Nice one deucecoupe With my Benz, I've had my star stolen, 3 sets of valve caps nicked, car grafitti'd, and it was broken into for the tax disc. The Volvo had about a tenner's worth of petrol syphoned from the tank. All relatively minor irritations really, but it f*cks me off that scum target my car just because it stands out Most of this stuff happened when I moved to Cornwall. It didn't get touched when I used to park it in one of the dodgiest areas of Nottingham for work

Nothings ever happned to any of my cars I can think of. I once caught a young lad and his chums about to trash my allegro, I atleast think he was anyway. He jumped out of his skin and ran off when he turned around and saw me!

Sounds like scratters have moved into my old yorkshire village. my mate witnessed 5+ non retros mindlessly get windows put through by low life work-dodgers! Luckily he pointed the culprits out to an enquiring owner, who went about some ameteur dentistry! Now that was not so fun was it!!!! so far touch wood too, pi$$ heads or bored work-dodging skum mainly breaking windows and mirrors. I think we are a bigger target now new cars are a bit harder to nick and more people low lifes seem to have zero respect.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Over the years, I've had a 2CV tipped on its side, a headlamp wrenched off, a "tag" etched into the glass of the rear window of my Acadiane van and then my roof got slashed. This is when I thought "stuff this" and escaped city life (add to that two keying incidents with my non-retro Pug 306 and the bonnet badge being pinched off my Daewoo Matiz - oh and on Millenium New Year, some drunken curse word smacked the mirror of my Dad's Rover).

In the last 5 years and only dealing with retro stuff My old Polo coupe S got walked over one night by some curse word up cnuts It also had the tunes nicked (although why I'll never understand it was just a rad/cass) My Lock up garage (that I have since given up renting) got broken into (was a store for a car and parts plus a couple of engines) and they broke the glass on the car and jemmied out the stereo making a big mess of the dash The only reason it was still in the car was cos it didn't work My Senator A got used as a den for some kids when in the compound where my Lockup was - I didn't mind too much as it was well past saving (terminal turret rot) but I needed the gearbox and diff plus a few interior parts like the clock set and couldn't be bothered to remove them from a running car that I could still move around. I did get the hump when obviously bored with the den idea they smashed every window in the car - it wasn't to get in as I never locked it - nothing worth nicking in it and whilst it would drive it wouldn't have gone far At that point I removed box, diff, wheels, battery & clock set and had the thing Hiab'd away

I've had the bus broken into, parts stolen from behind my ferken gert gates at home, and lockups broken into and bits nicked. The kid who broke into the bus said he was gonna come back with his old man.. That was after I'd whacked him on the head with a bar! ;D He never did come back

Its all so sad Came back from the pub one night to find a intoxicated up fat girl dancing in heels on the roof of mrs.aux's old subaru legacy estate, while fat girl's bloke was curse word up the side of it, I had just been to fetch 'The Happy Stick' when the coppers turned up- probably for the best. My old Saab 900i had its window done, all for a fire extinguisher and several old recorded hip-hop cassettes- they left the cas/radio

what is "TWOK"? just so i can vote more accurately. Had a drunken retard kick the s*** out of my door, some drunken old fool ride his bike into by front bumper (deliberately) braking the numberplate fixings (although that was probably done when i drove forwards to push him out the way) Oh and some minor scratches, most likely keys and not accidental as they're not very straight.
