Well, today has possibly been the first day since the 7th September I have spent all day indoors doing "nothing" surfing Ebay, forums and going to the garage to get a sledge hammer out for a neighbour. I have some small tasks to do like create Nicola's Christmas Prezzie, restore a Pipe cabinet I got from Baz on here for Nicola, cut some mirrors for a small project I am busy with, and also do some woodturning for Deathgaytothemax as requested. I have been thinking of what else I could get up to until I have a proper paying job again...... Nicola has said that if I get rid of the Sachs Madass in the garage (remember that ?) I am allowed to buy an older airhead BMW R100 to build a cafe racer styled chopper thing.... In the style of these..... Maybe buying something like this.... And dreaming of this Turning somethng like this Into something like that. Quite like this too. SWEEEETTT !!! The last one I built, but never completed cosmetically looked like this..... Some styling cues from Confederate Motorcycles. About 12 years ago I built this from a £60.00 garden ornament R80/7. I always like the look of chopped, redesigned bikes and cars, hence my addiction to RR's I took a BMW R80/7 and turned it from this..... to this.... Great fun, and feeling of achievement. Straight through pipes etc.... was loud and reasonably fast. Inspiration.... So I guess the question begs to be answered..... what will the next project be?

Those R100's are lovely old bikes, certainly 'cafe' well if done properly too. Get the Sachs up for sale, the market for 125's is good. I could have sold my old GN125 a dozen times over & it was nothing to write home about. I can't think of a better project to do if you've got the time.

Interestingly, this one is a 50cc GEARED version, so perfect for a 16 year old starting out.

Slightly different, but the flat trackers are a bit of a 'thing' as well at present. Here's one a good mate of mine has just built, using a 650 Sachs.

Crikey Grizz! Those Cafe-inspired BMWs are new to me - they're fantastic! I'd been planning to use an RD350LC as a base for mine, but rather fancy a BMW now!

This thread is far from deflating my urges for a bobber/cafe racer. That green and cream affair and the silver and black combo above it look beautiful.
