 been offed a cheap on like above (except its the boot style rear. Can anyone help me with what can be done etc with them re engine swaps (simple-ish) and suspension. Thinking alog these lines.....  all help please  |

actually, I am not having it. Its a MINT Early RA61 celica, Auto Car is down south somewhere Just ripe for a slamming and some J rims I cant afford it and need to concentrate on my KE70 Corolla. here is the guys details. 07793542195 ring him for price and stuff and say that ADAM told you about it. goodluck! |

So it'l be an 18RG-EU, pity about the auto, manual ones came with W55's and a good solid F code diff (unsure if it was IRS or live axle). I wouldn't bother doing an engine swap, I'd stick with the 18R-G and stick it on monster sidedrafts, but I guess you could source an MA60 crossmember and sling one of the M-series inline 6 motors in there! That shape Celica also had A series engines, so a 4AGE swap would also be relatively simple. Come to think of it, J market also had GA60 Celica's, so a 1G-GTE would probably be my choice, nice revvy twin-turbo 2l six!
All irrelevant now of course since you didn't want it!

Shame your not going for it mate! Like these- when you say "booted" do you mean "liftback?" The ones in the pics are coupes. Incase anyone else is interested: These wee beasties run a rather asthmatic 21R OHC engine in UK spec, not sure on power output but nothing much- 110 brake ish? The yank ones ran 22R's I think, with capacities up to 2.4 litres- lots of parts are avaliable from the states, check ebay.com Engine change options- I knew of fellow club member who dropped in a 4AGE on twin 45's and MSD ignition, made 150 brake. EDIT> he ran AE86 running gear and box on that car. I suppose you could get an 18R-G twink in there, but I'm not sure on the compatability of the gearbox- being an R series already in there I assume it could fit? Not much improvement but more scope for tuning. There is also the option of flipping the rad further forward and going for the old 5M-GE six, and if folk can get those in then maybe a 7M-GE or GTE could be possible? Heavy old lumps though. The rear on these are IRS not beams, so i'm unsure on the compatability of slippers for them. but as there was a group b car parts may be avaliable if not rare. Yeah from what st182 said, sounds like it.
We never had them sold here new, so pretty much most RA60 Celica's we have around these parts are JDM model GT's with 18R-GEU's, W55's and F code rears (the occasional LSD as well!).

sorry, i updated the pic, its THE CAR ins the top pic!  As for engine, its a 21R auto, has about 50k on the clock, been dry stored for a while and is in grat nick but with paint fade here and there. Its std with no tax and mot. Looks a great and easy fix up and these I believe are very rare to come by and most are prone to bad rust roud the boot area. it really looks great with the other pics I have seen underneath but I need to concentrate all my money and time on my KE70 if I want to get it done for Spring and The Ring! |

it was on ebay about 5 months ago but it never sold and now the guy needs it gone. Its just a pic I had from the ebay ad.

Its nothing to do with me but I know thatese are quite rare to see so thought one of you peeps might want a bash.
hes only after around £300 for it and its pretty tidy. Been dry stored in a garage and has around 50k
