Well, thought it was about time I put up some pics of my latest project. Swapped with CTiStu on here and he had already fitted the coilovers, decat and some MR2 wheels. Was a hoot to drive, especially with the roof down, and handled like a go kart. Was the perfect starting point for me. As will all older cars it had a couple of issues. The roof zip had ripped away and there was a rather large dent in the front wing ( although it did come with a replacement). So this is how she looked after getting home and having a quick wash
With the state of our weather the first thing on my list was sorting the roof situation. I found a used hard top for sensible money and that was fitted. Obviously the colour match was a little off but its growing on me and there are future plans for paintwork anyway We were now fully water tight and I will be taking the soft top off over the winter so I can refurbish it in the garage.
Next little spend was on the inside. Stu had already fitted some black seats and a nice wheel so I just added an 8 ball gear knob as I wasnt a fan of the wood and will be replacing the wooden handbrake handle at some point too. Also reaplced the door speakers as they had seen better days. Plans are to make some custom door cards over winter too.
Next up were the wheels. I wasnt a massive fan of the way the wheels sat so far in and found a set of Brock B2's on an owners forum. Had a set of these on an old golf and liked them and with the better offset they should fill the arches a bit better. They were purchased and got the tyres swapped on to them and put them on the car ( had a bit of an issue with the old bolts not fitting but a trip to halfords sorted that). Also fitted the rear spats that Stu gave me with the car.
Thats pretty much where I'm up too at the minute. Have a rear brace bar to fit and am looking to get some clear repeaters. Also going to try and either push out the dent a bit or fix and paint the wing taht came with the car. Did consider camo wrapping the other wing but not sure. Need to get the bodywork mopped if possible to see if the paint can come up a bit better of f she is going to need a full paint.
