This Corona is the version that replaced the one that was posted here last week. The pseudo-American styling is very evident, and my god I love it. This is fast and fantastic. I think this was at the retro car show. and lastly this one..... ker-ching!

They are all excellent but I love that Corona! I've never seen one in real life, wonder how many were sold here?
Random tangent: Who remembers Corona Pop? Retro-lemonade ;D

I've seen a couple of those Corona's, both of which have been at the Japanese And Performance Show. The most recent was last year I think when there was one exactly the same colour as the one on ebay. In 2001 this one turned up....

Yep, Volvo took over Daf's car production, and rebadged the Daf 66 as a Volvo 66, but it still had the famous 'rubber band' transmission.

I test drove an early Daf coupe once that my GF wanted to buy. I was amazed by how rapid the acceleration is on them! Noisiest car I have ever driven though

I drove a 44 estate with the said transmission. What really amazed me was how quickly you could drive it backwards...... It sounded like demented cow though

A mate of my dad's used to have a Daf with that transmission, and used to show off going really fast in reverse, then spinning the car 180 degrees around and driving in the same direction in forward gear. Only one time it went wrong, and he ended up with the car on its roof in the middle of an industrial estate! Yep, the early 343 models were fitted with Daf's variomatic transmission. Not sure for how long mind you, the later 3 series didn't.

I didn't spot this one tucked away in the non-classics. The cute little puppy is early enough to have escaped the Nissan badges. I'm sure that RatDat will tell us that a Silvia Turbo lump is a straight swap too. cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=18238&item=2492185988What an excellent little car that could be...don't take my word for it though:

But I'd have to take off the modern wheeltrims and burn them, they don't suit a car that old!

There is one already with a Silvia engine in it. Pretty esy conversion but for the same work you could have a more powerful and stronger 200SX lump in it. Very easy car to upgrade. BTW, most cars that we got as Datsuns were sold as Nissans in Japan. Datsun was just a brand name and has never actually been the name of the company. Even 510's were a Nissan Bluebird. They did use the Datsun name too in Japan but the majority of Japanese brochures just call them Nissans. They you go ...some useless trivia ;D
