Hey guys, I'm looking to get my Scirocco back on the road in a few weeks, and I'm wanting to poly-bush it while I'm at it, so I'm after peoples experiences with the various options that are out there at the moment.
One option's to get a 'Bugpack' kit, which includes the front wishbones, rear beam, steering rack, engine mounts and rear top mount bushes, and comes in at £110.20 for a complete set, this would leave the ARB's still to do, Which would cost ~£60 extra to get superpro ones, but I don't know if I'd bother doing them.
The other option for sensible money seems to be Superpro, who do a kit including the front whishbones, rear beam, front engine steady, both ARBs and the steering rack for £161.52, or alternatively, if I was to get everything but the ARB's, so it was the same as the bugpack kit, but without the engine mounts to comes to £116.59, so only ~£6 more than the Bugpack ones. This would leave me needing engine mounts, which to get the bugpack ones are another £43, but I doubt I'd bother with them, I'd rather just stick new OEM ones on there as I don't want the car getting too harsh.
So does anyone have any experience with either make? Any stories good or bad? Or are they both cheep curse word and not worth spending out on?
(PS, I'm not bothered about the ARB's as I'll likely solid mount the rear one as it's entirely on the beam so isolated by the beams bushes anyway, and the front one doesn't really need to be any stiffer IMO.)

Have you looked at Supaflex?
Their prices, ordering direct with them online are competitive compared to Ebay prices.
I can't comment on any particular brand as the car's still in bits, but I went with Supaflex for my Scimitar. They seem to set themselves up as the premium brand and have good availability.

I did look at Superflex and decided they looked a bit pricey, but actually adding it up, to do the wishbones, rear beam, steering rack and engine steady would come to £125.40, which really isn't much more, so they're definitely another option, but I'd be interested to hear if people have genuinely found them to be noticeably better.

Dunno about the rest, but the Superflex bushes on the Imp are still good after 4 years and probably 20,000 miles.
I've handled Superpro bushes for Imps and, subjectively they seemed of similar quality to the Superflex. The Superpro crush tube is made of anodised alloy rather than the stainless steel of the Superflex - don't know how the alloy would stand up to road salt and it could promote differential corrosion onto the suspension bolts.
I think I'm going with Superpro for the Clan - they are noticeably cheaper (£84 rather than £105).

DO NOT poly bush the engine mounts!!!!! even on petrols engines one its shakes the interior of the car its horrid with a diesel it would be horrendous, i did on my mk1 golf they came out after the first drive. I used bugpack ones for the rest and seemed ok, if not a little too stiff.

I should have said, the Scirocco's probably going back to a petrol engine. Like I said, I doubt I'll do the engine mounts, I'll replace them as they're warn out and the cam-belt side one's been adapted for the diesel engine, but I'll likely just fit standard ones, or current engine plans may require new ones making anyway.
I'm tempted to go with the Superflex wishbone, rear beam and steering rack ones, new standard engine mounts all around and a solid mounted rear ARB, I think that'd have the effect I'm after. I basically just want the car to be a bit more responsive/tighter feeling, it'll be a daily with a full interior and relatively compliant suspension, so I think that combination would work well with it.
Any more opinions are more than welcome though.

We use a lot of Superpro on the racers as they tend last far longer than most other stuff....

I've heard mixed things about SuperPro. One garage I know who claims to have used them was saying they are not the best of fit, showing me poor fitting bushes into trailing arms. But in hindsight I do wonder whether they were bushes from Rimmers et. al that happened to be blue. They do look similar to Superflex I admit. The specialist however (include others and I) found that the Superflex items looked pretty much like brand new after a few years and fitted first time. They do seem to be the closest thing to OEM quality bushes on older cars. On my 'B they were a superb fit, with no real harshness added to the ride quality (if I am honest, the car drove better upon installing them, quite composed over the bumps!) They are not the easiest of things to fit at times (they can be tight), but they do not seem to deform etc. Saying that, ignoring the above waffle I would go with SuperPro over BugPack bushes if some of BP's stuff is anything to go by. But I still maintain that the Superflex bushes are a worthwhile investment if you plan to keep the car a while .
