I got this car in Sept last year, as my driver, and to tow the caravan. It made sense as i was only doing low miles a year, so i had it on a classic policy with Peter Best insurance (£260 a year, fully comp and i'm just 28).
Now my use is next to zero the car sits doing nothing until we need to pull caravan, so getting rid of this, and Civic for one car that's both economical and will tow the caravan which has been found.
OK so the car, is a fantastically clean 2000 S80, really looked after a credit to it's two prev owners, FSH to 142,000 miles, cambelt done at 90 odd thou. It's the 5cyl petrol engine NON turbo, fantastic on economy for it's size, Sounds good and although is not at all FAST, it does have long legs should you need it to gallop!
The towbar was fitted by a specialist cost £250, not in pics as it was fitted after they were taken. It has only ever towed my 1100kg caravan, and i aint one of these chuck anything on the back and drag it types, i've always made sure nose weight is spot on, tyre pressure is right etc. Legally these can tow 1800kg's.
leather interior is fantastic condition
AC works although i suspect gas is low as it makes the tell take hiss (not leak). I've asked on Volvo forums and this is known and not a problem
The alarm module is knackered! This means one of two things, you either lock it with the key and have no problems or you lock it with the remote and the alarm goes off.... silently! lol It wont cause a noise problem, it does not sound. It will however tell you when you start up the alarm needs a service. Easy to replace if you're bothered. Never bothered me.
Two keys, one remote.
Full set of genuine Volvo mats, i replaced the space waster spare wheel with a full size (for towing) but i will throw both in with the sale.
BRAND NEW Battery when i got back from Florida in Sept as the RAC had fitted the wrong size in the previous autumn!
Day running lights have been turned off by the dealers. Can be turned back on with the right software.
Stereo is fantastic Dolby CD/Cassette head unit (no changer). I've never heard a car stereo as good as this! All working as should.
Not much else to say really, other than in the pics the rear number plate is manky, that has now been replaced with a nice fresh one!
Fitted with good, continental winter tyres up front too! Ready to work!
The deal is done with the dealer of the new car, if this does not sell, it will just be traded in. Price above is trade in price.
