I've been living in Telford for 4 years now so I thought it was time I had a look around my local scrapyard.
I thought the oily mud had been banned by the EU. Not at this place!
Loads of modern cars sat in neat rows, most without any visible reason for being there. High performance cars mix with the girlie shoppers, all grouped by marque. In the Nissan section theres a B11 Sunny saloon...base model so still no clock for my van! Its parked next to a Primera with an SR20DE which is next to an S13, complete except for wheels.
Right at the back, in front of the 4x4s and next to the vans is a small group of proper cars. Here's a few photogs.
The Rover arrived on a fork-lift while I was there. The left hand sill was missing and the rest looked rot-free.
The Marina at the end of the row was in very good condition with only some rot to the front of the lh rear arch.
This 126 looked like it was immaculate just before it hit something head-on. Looks very repairable.
At the entrance to the yard are a load of cars for sale. There is a Vitara with jack-up kit, body lift, fat knobblies, snorkel, the works. They want £2500 which I thought was a bit steep.
Close by was this XR2i. There was some nastiness under the petrol filler but it has a lovely interior and no other visible rust.
It started raining so I went back to my workshop.
